What are we going to do?

The event will start on Saturday morning at Windhoek-farm near Darling with some coffee and registration before heading off to the prologue. This will be a mini-event in itself, as it will be more than just using your jack to lift up your car.

After the prologue, and after the starting order has been determined, you will set off on the trail with some navigation challenges and obstacles to overcome. You will not just be driving the trail following the guy in front of you, but on your own, making your own way.

When you complete the trail, we will give you a set of instructions to set you of on an excursion that will keep you busy the rest of the day on the back roads and dirt roads of the area. Your destination for the evening is a secret (as you will need to navigate correctly to get there – but we will give you an option to go directly if you get lost). Once you arrive there, it is a quick trip to the campsite where you will be allowed to set up camp at your leisure while the rest of the competitors come in.

That will conclude the end of the competition and you will be allowed to have as many beers or cold drinks as you like – there will be no more driving until the next morning. While you relax, we will finish the scoring and before we dig into the spitbraai that will be supplied (and is included in your entry fees) the winners will be announced. That night, you can brag around the campfire all you like, and leave for home the next morning knowing that you enjoyed yourself, your 4×4 and the company of other people who also enjoyed themselves and their 4×4’s.

And of you are lucky enough to qualify for the grand final in the Tankwa Karoo, you will get a chance to do this on a greater scale all over again in November!

So what do you get when you enter?

A Saturday of driving fun, capped off with a lekker kuier in the evening, and delicious spitbraai to crown it all. You and your co-driver will also get a limited edition Dust Challenge Series-shirt, an awesome sticker to keep on your car to show where you were, and some new friends if you haven’t met us already!

So click on this link to enter, and tell all your mates to do it as well!
